Bathing Suit 101

When swimming in public swimming pools, look at some of the announcements that are there. One of the several notices that must be present in every public swimming pool is to wear bathing suits. People who don’t bring swimsuits can buy or rent there so they can swim in the pool. All the visitors must obey those rules because even if it’s only a bathing suit, this can affect our ability to swim. Actually, why do we have to wear a bathing suit when swimming? Here are the reasons:

1. Bathing suit Made with certain materials

Unlike the clothes we wear every day, swimsuits are made from particular materials. Bathing suits using certain fabrics such as spandex, nylon, or lycra. The fabric ingredients are different from ordinary clothes. Daily clothing usually uses cotton as their fabrics. As a material, cotton has the risk of spreading many germs into swimming pool water. Cotton is known to hold bacteria, microbe, and washing detergents that stuck in between the fibers. Also, ordinary clothing material can be damaged, and the color fades if exposing it to chlorine, which is usually mixing with pool water. Certain materials such as spandex, lycra, and nylon are more resistant to damage caused by chlorine.

2. You can move freer

The main reason why we have to wear a bathing suit is for our comfort in moving while swimming. Swimwear made of cotton or cotton will absorb more water, so it will feel heavy when you move. Of course, it is troublesome because swimming is a sport where all members of our body move actively. When you wear a swimsuit, you will be able to move comfortably, because the swimming pool uses material that does not absorb water, so it doesn’t feel heavy when you swim.

Then, how do you choose the right bathing suit?

1. Adjust to your body shape

The bathing suit is usually always tight in the body so they will display your original body shape. Choose the right swimsuit model so you can disguise your lack of body shape. For example, a woman with a body shape like a pear is better to use a swimsuit with a skirt accent at the bottom to disguise her broad hips. If you have a proportional body shape, then you are free to use any model.

2. Choose a swimsuit with a material that is comfortable and lightweight.

Use swimsuits with materials such as nylon, polyester, lycra, or a combination of Nylon and lycra. Nylon and lycra are the right choices because the material is soft, lightweight, and more elastic than polyester. These materials are very suitable for swimsuits.

3. Choose the right color.

The color is also a significant factor when choosing a swimsuit. If you use a swimsuit with a bright color, it will usually become transparent when wet or underwater. Wear a swimsuit with a dark color to disguise your body parts when your bathing suit is wet. Or, you can use the color-changing bathing suit that is popular right now. Color changing bathing suit can change color according to your condition, whether in the water or out of the water. The color will usually turn darker when you get out of the water.
